Apple Sauce Cake : A sheer delight to eat

Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 ¼ teaspoons ground cardamom
1 cup (2 sticks) butter,
2 cups packed light-brown sugar
¼ cup honey
2 eggs
2 cups Basic Apple sauce
Non-stick cooking spray
Confectioners’ sugar
Directions

1. The first step is to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Now take a large bowl and add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom, now whisk it together and set aside.

2. In another bowl put butter, brown sugar, and honey and with the help of an electric mixer mix it until it becomes light and fluffy.

3. Now add eggs in the light and fluffy mixture and keep beating until it gets mixed well. Keep the mixer on a low speed, gradually add flour mixture. Now add apple sauce and keep beating it.

4. Coat a non-stick tube pan with cooking spray and put the batter into it and make it smooth. Now bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean (but slightly wet), 50 to 60 minutes.

Cool it and sprinkle confectioners’ sugar onto it and serve.

Ingredients
Butter
½ cup granulated sugar, plus more for baking dish
6 large eggs, separated
6 ounces semisweet melted chocolate
½ teaspoon salt
Confectioners’ sugar
A large bowl
Baking dish
Directions

1. The first step is to gather all the ingredients. Now preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place a kettle of water to boil the water.

2. Now take a clean baking dish and apply a thin coat of butter to inside it. Now again coat it with granulated sugar and tap it from behind to remove out the excess sugar.

3. Now take a large bowl, whisk egg yolks with granulated sugar until they become light in colour. Now whisk in melted chocolate and set the bowl aside.

4. Take another clean bowl and using an electric mixer on high, beat egg whites with salt until the formation of soft peaks. Whip 1/3 of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture. Add remaining whites and gently fold up with a rubber spatula just until combined. Remember that you do not have to over-mix it.

5. Now put the batter into the baking dish and set it in a roasting pan. Pour enough boiling water into the pan and stop when it comes up to about 1 inch up side of the dish.

6. Bake till it becomes puffy and just set (centre of cake should barely move when jiggled), 25 to 35 minutes.

Now let it cool and sprinkle confectioners’ sugar just before serving.
